RESEARCH PAPER WORK
Summary
This statistical research was done to know the number of complaints that have been terminated or monitored since the year in which the Women's Justice Center in Durango began to work. The Women's Justice Center is responsible for gender-based violence and domestic abuse, and for seeing that justice is done, as they go hand in hand. Articles on the topic, videos and research were found, but not enough to reach the goals that had been raised for the investigation, but still we persevere. This so that society finds out and works hand in hand with the authorities to eradicate this social evil that today is affecting much of us.
Having collected and analyzed the documents mentioned above, it was concluded that this social problem is global and is apparently increasing. More known cases may also be attributed to women talking about violence. As many women are denouncing the violence they suffer.
Generally speaking we can say more than 50% of women have experienced domestic violence at some point in their lives. Men as well, experienced domestic violence, however in men the average is only 5%. More consistent averages were seen in women with less education or social status, not working and dedicated to the home. A higher incidence was also found in women between 35 and 45 years of age.
The grievances and types of violence that have been suffered are
described in the “violentometer”. This phenomenon is seen in all researched
countries, as governments continue to ignore these problems and fail to commit
to a consistent global and technical effort. If
they would address the problem from the root, society in general would be
improved. Governments should take actions on these issues, due
to the long-term effects for all involved in these types of cases.
